Yamaha TRX 850

Complete rebuild

Decided to rebuild this TRX, this was how I bought it.

I removed the fairing, fitted some Ducati forks to the front end and a XJR (5.5”) rear wheel.

I think Yamaha always designed the TRX for a 180 rear but it was lost somewhere in production.

The Duke forks were better but much shorter so the radiator needed to be tucked away. The rear pretty much slotted straight in.

And this is how it ended up.

I replaced the front end with all Ducati parts, that was the easiest and safest route.

The rear got a R1 calliper and tucked in taillight. The front had a twin light setup.

It was an interesting project and the results were ok.
