Robert Miller

If you’ve read through my site you’ll know a bit about me by now.

Addicted to bikes (much to my regret at times) and love off-road riding.

My fathers work took us to South Africa in 1976, we are originally from a place called Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the United Kingdom.

At the age of 15 my folks bought the first bike, a Yamaha DT125LC (elsewhere on these pages), from that point on off-road was in the blood.

South Africa was good like that as there was lots of space for riding and not too many farmers to object.

For a while I got into the road bikes but riding on the roads is very restrictive as to what you can do (legally, anyway).

In 1996 JR wanted to get back into ‘proper’ off-road and was looking for a riding buddy. I didn’t need to be asked twice.

Those years that we had in SA were very good, unfortunately the overall situation in the country as a whole started to loose its appeal. We both decided to leave.

I left SA in 1999 and returned to the UK, initially in London but now in a place called Milton Keynes.

Leaving SA was a very difficult decision; I left a lot of friends, family and loved ones behind.

The riding (off-road at least) in the UK is there, not as good, but still available, but it’s the people that are missed the most.
