Trans America Trail - 2008

Review – Airoh S4 helmet (hawk-head).

Bought this on eBay for about 50 pounds. It came with a spare dark visor and some fitting parts.

I think the noise that came off it when riding on the Interstate was too much. I resorted to ear plugs in the end.

Comfort (apart from noise) was ok but there’s a lot of wind blast again at Interstate speeds. There was a lot of air flow in the helmet.

This translates to good ventilation at slow speeds.

In some of the pics you can see I’ve taped it all the vents. This was more due to the cold than the wind.

Fit and finish were acceptable for the price.
